In a residential sectional title scheme you aren’t allowed to ‘carry on a business’ in your section unless you have permission from the local municipality and other owners in the scheme. ‘Carrying on a business’ envisages issues like parking problems due to clients coming to see you at the scheme and constantly taking up all the visitors’ parking bays.
But if you are quietly working on your laptop at home with no customers or clients coming to you, there is no reason why you shouldn’t be able to work from home, provided your actions do not negatively impact any of your fellow owners and residents.
With that in mind, here are 3 tips to help you love your home work space:
1. Enjoy Your Home comforts
You’re not in a cubicle with 300 other people banging away at their laptops, so enjoy your home comforts.
Without distracting yourself, do things you wouldn’t be able to do in a traditional office environment.
2. Make Sure the Space is Well Lit
At home you don’t have to deal with harsh overhead fluorescent lighting. Natural light from a window is great but be aware of the location of your monitor to avoid glare on your computer screen. If you don’t have sufficient natural light, opt for a good desk lamp.
3. Reduce clutter and distractions
Drawers and shelving allow you to organize your work related material, get it off your desk and reduce clutter. A free desk frees your mind and makes it easier to get down and do the work at hand. Out-of-control cables also need to be out-of-sight for peace of mind!
Ultimately, it’s your home work space and you’re the boss, so you get to decide how things are done. Make working at home work for you in the way you think works best.
Do you work from your sectional title home, and does it work for you?

Heya just wanted to give you a quick heads up
and let you know a few of the pictures aren’t loading properly.
I’m not sure why but I think its a linking issue. I’ve tried it
in two different internet browsers and both show the same outcome.
To “reduce clutter” I’d need the skills of Candice Olson or Nate Berkus!
