Want to increase the value of your sectional title property? Pet friendly policies could help!

sectional title, pet friendly property, pets in sectional title, application for dog, body corporate, trustee

A recent survey of pet-friendly developments carried out in Queensland, Australia by PetsInTheCity.net.au yielded some interesting findings…

  • People are willing to pay 5-10% more when buying an apartment or townhouse if they’ll be able to keep their pet; and
  • Estate agents reported a 50% increase in buyer interest if a property for sale was advertised as pet-friendly.

So if you are a trustee and are considering an application for a resident to keep a pet in his/her section – your approval, along with the other trustees, could increase the value of the property… Just some food for thought.

Happy puppy loving!

Stumbled upon this post while researching pets in complexes. I have to admit i find it rather bizarre that you would relate a study conducted in a first world country to SA, a third world country! Especially considering the property value and cultural discrepancy between SA and AUS.
